Life Transitions TherapyÂ
When Life Changes and You’re Still Finding Your Footing

Some changes happen because you chose them. Others happen before you feel ready. Either way, changes in work, relationships, family, identity, health, or where you live can leave you feeling unsettled.

You may be excited about what is changing and still miss what came before. You may know a decision was right for you and still question it. Or you may simply feel unsure about what this next part of your life means for you.

Life Changes Can Feel Complicated
A transition does not have to be unwanted to feel difficult. Even changes you chose or looked forward to can affect your routines, relationships, sense of identity, and what you expected life to look like.

You may feel relieved and uncertain, excited and anxious, or ready for something new while still missing what was familiar. Having more than one feeling about a change does not mean you made the wrong decision
Changes You Chose
Moving, changing careers, returning to school, or starting or ending a relationship.
Changes You Did Not Choose
Job loss, separation, health changes, or unexpected responsibilities.
Changes in Roles & Relationships
Becoming a parent or caregiver, children leaving home, or adjusting to changing family roles.
Starting Again Somewhere New
Immigration, relocation, or adjusting to a new community or culture.

Sometimes It Takes Time to Catch Up With Change
Life can change quickly, while emotionally it may take longer to understand what that change means for you. You may still think, react, or make decisions based on how things used to be, even though your circumstances are different now.

Sometimes adjusting means making sense of what changed, what you miss, what feels unfamiliar, and what you want to carry forward with you.
What Can We Talk About in Life TransitionsTherapy?
A major change can bring questions about decisions, relationships, identity, expectations, loss, or what matters to you now.

Therapy can be a place to make sense of what has shifted without feeling pressured to immediately know what comes next. We can explore what feels uncertain, what may be difficult to let go of, and what you want more or less of in your life as things change.

You do not need to come in with a specific goal or a perfectly clear plan.
